About High Pressure Laminate
Haveel High Pressure Decorative Laminates comprise layer of specially selected decorative papers, impegnated with melamine and phenolic resins, and kraft paper, which is pressed together under temperatures of 120 °C (± 5 °C) and high pressure of 100 kg (± 5 kg) per cm².
These are high-quality, hard-wearing and impact-resistant laminates, and provide a beautiful decorative finish. Applications of this material include kitchen cabinet, office furniture, counter-tops, store fixtures and other domestic and commercial application.
Assembling HPL Products
Haveel must bond to a substrate of reliable quality, such as particle board, medium density fiber board, or plywood. For best result, follow the techniques recommended by the adhesive manufacturer. The face and back laminated as well as substrate should be in conditioned in the environment for 48 hours before fabrication.
The recommended conditioning temperature is 75 F (24 C) and relative humidity is about 45%. To avoid stress cracking, do not use square-cut corners. All inside corners should have a minimum of 1/8 inch (3.18 mm) radius and edges should be routed smooth.
How to Clean HPL Products ?
Laminate surface can be cleaned using the following method :
  • Light dirt of stains can be removed simply with warm soapy water or a mixture warm water and detergent.
  • Grease marks and adhesive residue can be removed with white mineral spirits.
  • Strong colored fruit, hair dues, vegetables juices, bleaches, caustic-alkalis and strong mineral acids may leave a mark if not wiped off within a short period.
  • Stubborn dirt and stains may be removed using non-abrasive scouring cream or mild domestic bleach.
  • Harsh abrasive should not be used.
HPL Product Chemical Resistance
Haveel Laminates offer good resistance to most chemical. They also resist solvent such as alcohol, esters and ketones as well as weak organic and diluted mineral acids. Nitric acids, strong alkalis and strong coloring agents might cause damage or discoloration in the decorative surface.
